I have only been on this medication for 5 days so far, but I have Chronic Migraine, and so far, I have only had one day where I felt a migraine coming on, I used my abortives and boom it was gone. This is not typical for me, as I usually walk around with a background headache all the time. My first 5 day impression is good. No side effects so far especially compared to regular Topamax which was ... Show Full Comment

I suffer from Migraines; Hemiplegic. I had to come back and update my review of this drug. When I was seen by my physician, none of the side affects I complained of were still evident! I have to admit Trokendi XR has been a "game changer" for me! I never, ever thought I could live with only one migraine a month. Next month I am hopeful for ZERO!!! Plus, I no longer function like a zom ... Show Full Comment

I am so greatful to have been given the samples of Trokendi XR from my physician. I had been taking topamax since 2006, 25mg BID- I would frequently miss my pm dose and experience breakthrough migraines a few times a month. I never complained to my physician bc I didn't know there was any other alternative and I was more controlled than I was without medication. I now take 50mg of trokendi ... Show Full Comment

I switched at the suggestion of my Dr. to see if Trokendi would lessen the dopey effects. The drug caused me to experience some side affects. Week 1; weight gain, fluid retention, blood pressure increase. Week 2; dry eyes, pressure behind the eyes, fatique, ... Show Full Comment

    Comment:
I started taking Trokendi 2 months ago after trying most migraine preventives including topamax generic and brand. I am very pleased with Trokendi and have been able to stay migraine free with a dose of only 25mg per day which is the starting dose. I tried to taper up once upon urging of my physician but the side effects kicked in and I went back to the tiny dose which is effective for me for ke ... Show Full Comment
