I'm using this medication for IBS. Only 25 miligrams a night. So far it has helped...thank goodness. I do have dry mouth at night and I'm gaining a little weight.

    Comment:
I have been on 25 mg. of Elavil for about 5 years now. It was prescribed for I.C. by my urologist. It does help with my sleep, but I still get up 1 to 2 times to urinate at night. I have weird dreams, forgetfullness, weight gain, and get sleepy during the day. I don't know if it is worth it. But I don't want to go through withdrawls trying to get off from it !!

    Comment:
10 mg of Elavil was prescribed by my doctor for insomnia. I have taken it every night for 8 months. Can I stop suddenly or do I need to do so gradually. I feel groggy in the am and just not myself (low energy).
