This med was prescribed for me after I developed a vancomycin rash after being on IV Vanco for several weeks. I was being treated for a staph aureus infection contracted after back surgery. The infection went into my three joint replacements. Zyvox caused sleeplessness and extreme tiredness and some diarrhea. The sleeplessness was the most difficult side effect, the tiredness being a result of tha ... Show Full Comment

Treatment resulted in severe side effects: sore throat, dry mouth, cracking of lips in corners, itching in groin, tenderness/ tingling of tongue; discontinued medication after 12 of 21 days, and most side effects cleared up, lingering side effects after three months.

Taking drug due to infection after major oral surgery. Thank goodness for insurance drug is $1,800 for a 10 day supply. Still having issues but at least the "cure" wasn't worse than the disease.
