I usually get a cold sore about once per year. They always last a week to 10 days, then another week or so to heal. I used it the first time last year and it quite growing after two days, took about a week to heal. I just got another cold sore and had the exact same results. Have tried lysine and every other type of "cure" with no noticeable results. Everyone should try this at least onc ... Show Full Comment

Abreva works for me most of the time. I count on it! The new pump is a nuisance..first it won't squirt, then it spews more than is needed ,therefore I have to buy another one. (planned?) Please go back to the tiny tube!

I am now 100% sure that Abreva makes cold sores worse. I've done an experiment where I did not use it and simply use lysine pillsnot only did the blisters not come but there was no pain. Each and every time I've used Abreva I've ended up with large blisters and pain. Do not use Abreva. Simply by very high-quality lysine and use that.
