Please don't take this! Ask for a different antibiotic if you are prescribed this. I can not explain how awful I felt, extreme nausea, dizziness and diahrea, I felt so bad I was pulling out my own hair, I couldn't stand being in my own skin. I'll never ever take this again.

I have had many UTI's mostly due to chronic kidney stones. I usually take Macrobid or the generic and have no side effects except maybe a little fatigue and very mild dizziness on the 1st day if any. Within an hour of my first dose I have severe stomach pain and cramping. Wish I would have read these reviews first. Do not take this medication.

I had typical UTI symptoms with blood in my urine but no kidney pain so my doctor only prescribed a 3 day course of the medicine. After the first pill, the pain in between urinations stopped almost immediately and the frequent need to urinate also decreased. I went to the doctor for having sharp pains in the abdomen area was given this med in case it was a urinary tract infection . This medication did cause me to have nausea / upset stomach . I did drink alot of milk with this antibiotic
