PLEASE, read the ratings of other patients below even the 3 star ratings. Notice the common denominators being the side effects from missing a dose (even by just a few hours) or how hard it is to get off the medication once the patient realizes how bad this drug truly is. I tell you with no reservation: this is an evil medication that should not be on the market and can potentially ruin your life ... Show Full Comment

I recently started introducing Effexor, I have been on 20mg Lexapro (escitalopram) for about 1.5 years and instead of switching immediately I am tapering off the lexapro slowly while taking the equivalent does of effexor and so far I like it alot. No bad side effects or anything like I read on here before hand, I really phsyced myself out reading all the horror stories but so far I am glad I start ... Show Full Comment

Effexor changed my life honestly. I struggle with anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Couldn't stay in school or hold down a job. I'd been on almost every anxiety/depression med in the book, and Effexor was a last-ditch effort. Once I got to 187.5mg, I started up college and was able to hold down a job. I still struggle with ADHD symptoms, enough that its affected school and relationships, but ... Show Full Comment

I have been on effexor for over 15 years! It has been a wonderful drug for me. I had been on Prozac before this and my dose had been raised so high that I had no emotions at all. Went to a funeral of a family member and sat and talked about the architecture of the church. Immediately went to my pcp and was put on effecor. I wouldn't go off for anything now! It has given me back my life!
