I had 2 bouts of AF 6mos. apart and was then placed on 150 mg.of Propafenone Q8hrs. Have been AF free for 13 mos. The first 3 mos. on the med were rough with waking up in the night and having dry mouth. Only real side effect I have had with the med.

I take 3 tablets of 150mg. if I'm in atrial fib. My symptoms usually are slow irreguler pulse. This has been documented by EKG. On occasion it will be a rapid "not able to count" pulse. I convert to a normal rhythm in any where from 1 to 2 hours. I have a problem with A fib about every 4-6 months. Prior to using this medication , I had been cadio verted twice 6 months apart. I conve

The only thing I don't like is having to take it 3 times a day. I often forget the afternoon dose when busy. Rythmol is the answer but too expensive-this drug however, is NOT cheap either.

I have taken 225mg of this drug 3 times a day for 4 years. It has worked very well and although expensive is still much cheaper than Rythmol. The only side effect I noticed was constipation.

still having short bouts of Atrial Fibrillation but now symptoms have changed to slow irregular rhythm that goes away with bed rest.
